Clarification on Daemon Inputs\Outs

Greg Apr 30, 2015 01:50PM CEST

I have the latest version of Lemur installed with version 5 Leamur Daemon. My setup is as follows:

Windows 8.1 64bit
Ableton 9
Ipad 2 IOS 8
wifi using ad-hoc network

I would like to know a couple of things things:

1) When I open the Lemur Daemon on my PC should I instantly see the Daemon Inputs\Outputs 1-16 or do these inputs\outputs only appear when the editor has made contact with my ipad? My lemur daemon does not show these inputs\outputs at all.

2) Am I correct in thinking the daemon inputs\outputs are just virtual midi cables which work the same as loopMIDI\loopBE? I can get midi data to be received by ableton using loopMIDI without the daemon inputs\outputs. Is this advised or should I always use the daemon inputs\outputs?

Although ableton can receive midi data I am still unable to control\map anything with lemur. I will try again tonight.

many thanks

Finally got lemur working after re-creating my virtual midi channels!

Am I correct in thinking Daemon Inputs\Outputs 1-16 only show up on a MAC?

Thank you so much for such an amazing product, all the best!

That is correct, on Windows the daemon will expose the virtual MIDI ports (loopMIDI, loopbe, etc)
