Can't get Daemon to communicate with Ableton Live

Fred Aug 21, 2015 08:57AM CEST

Helloes. Now this is really kind of a stupid situation, having connected Lemur on my iPad to both Lemur Daemon and the Lemur Editor. Now my real problem is connecting Daemon to Ableton Live. All the 8 input and output ports show up in the Midi Sync section. I have set them all up to use Track and Remote connections. However, when changing any parameters in the app, no Midi is received by Live. The indicator simply does not light up. I'm not entirely sure which part of the chain is broken. Halp?

Okay, I did some research and installed MIDI Monitor. Apparently nothing comes out of Lemur Daemon. Either the app does not transmit anything, or Daemon does nothing with the data.

Open a simple factory template such as Studio Combo. Jiggling the faders is a simple way to send MIDI CCs on MIDI Target 0.

Make sure that MIDI Target 0, in the Lemur's settings page, is configured to Daemon Input/Output 0. If you can select these ports, it means your iPad and the computer are properly connected on the network.

In MIDI Monitor, make sure that you've checked the boxes to monitor all incoming and outgoing ports.
