How to use the Surface LCD?

John Sep 05, 2016 05:30AM CEST

I love Lemur. It's very powerful and versatile and I can see a lot of possibilities with it. Unfortunately, I am not good at programming things look very complicated to me.

My question is: How do you use the Surface LCD? How do you get it to display anything? For example, I am using Mainstage for live performance and I use Lemur to control it. I already got some things working in the template, like the pitch bend, the mod wheel, some faders and knobs, prev and next patch buttons; I got them down. Now I want to display the current patch or instrument into the Surface LCD. How do I do that? Please explain in such a way that a complete noob can understand.

Of course there are other things that I can think of using the Surface LCD, like displaying the parameter I am currently adjusting and such, so that I don't have to look at the computer always. But for now, getting the Surface LCD to display the patch is what I want to do.

I have been looking all over the internet and forums on how this is done, but I haven't found a clear answer (or an answer that I can understand).

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Surface LCD only works with Mackie Control protocol messages.
