android touch latency

Oeyvind Apr 15, 2017 12:08AM CEST

I'm using the Lemur app on a Lenovo Tab 3 Pro. I recently upgraded the OS to Android 6.01, to enable wired USB MIDI. This works fine. However, since the OS update, ,it seem the latency of the Lemur App's response to actions on the touch screen has become worse. I'd say the latency is around 250 milliseconds now. This prevents me from performing anything with quick gestures. I can only do slow movements of the faders. Also, the Lemur app seems to miss (disregard) touch actions quite frequently (around 50% of the times I put down a finger, it won't register). To me it looks as if the Lemur update/scan rate of the touch screen has become lower, which could explain both the slow response and the missing touches. Now, I have tested the tablet with other apps (like the keyboard, and/or simple switches in settings etc), and they never miss a touch action, and the response is much faster. After reading on this forum, I noted that some users complained about slow response in configuraitons with many objects on the Lemur screen. To test, I created a simple configuration with just one slider in Lemur. The response is still sluggish and it is missing touches. What could be the cause of this sluggishness?
