Cubase does not Automatically Connect Generic Remotes to Daemon Ports

Alessandro Saini Feb 13, 2018 05:40PM CET

Greetings Liine Community!

I am currently running a program called Composer Tools Pro from MIDI Kinetics on my iPad. I have 3 generic remotes, one for recalling info of MIDI tracks on screen, one for instruments tracks and a final remote for my custom key commands, all with CTPro.

When I fire up the computers, the Daemon and all other programs open up and connect automatically, but when I open Cubase, it fails to automatically read and link the generic remotes to their appropriate inputs and outputs.

Can anyone help me with this issue?

I am running Cubase 9.5 on a mid-2010 Mac Pro and macOS Sierra 10.12

Thank you!

It has something to do with Daemon, and is a common problem. Something with Daemon not remembering/creating the exact same addresses for the midi ports, which makes Cubase not recognise them.

Use IAC drivers build in to macOS instead. Then create both drivers for in and out, if you need MIDI feedback.

I have the same problem but with Cubase 9.5 on Windows-10 (PC workstation).
I've no idea what an IAC driver is, but can this solution also be used in Windows-10? Or is there an alternative solution?

Many thanks in advance,
