MIDI ports configuration in Live

Luca Bagnoli Apr 04, 2014 11:32AM CEST

Hi, I did LiveControl 2 MIDI ports setup in OS X as you correctly describe in "LiveControl 2 — Setup Guide", but I realized that to make midi assignments on Live (CMD + M) and make them actives, I need to enable "Track: On" as weel on the midi port named "Output: LiveControl_2_12 (Daemon Output 0)", in addition to "Sync", which was already active.

Could you kindly explain the correct MIDI configuration (Track, Sync & Remote for both input and output) to drive LiveControl2 and at the same time make free Midi assignments with CMD + M?

Thank you very much for your reply and congratulations for your work,

Best to use another MIDI Target for free MIDI assignments, for example Daemon Input/Output 1 on MIDI Target 1. This way you can create a new page in the LiveControl 2 Lemur template and add your own controls. In Ableton Live you would need to activate Remote for Daemon Intput/Output 1.
