CC changes seem to work, Note on off works, but no clip lauch or transport...

Sascha Oct 12, 2014 04:55PM CEST

How does LiveControl2 receive the clip information? They don't appear on the Lauch surface.

Also the Daemon doesn't seem to work. I am unable to add a local port.
It seems to find the iPad temporarlily and then it disappears and reapears etc...

Windows XP SP3
Live 9.0
iO DOck II
iPad 4

My Midi port settings are as follows ...

Live 9.0 :

Surface : LiveControl2.12
Input : ioDock II
output : ioDock II

Midi Ports :

LiveControl2.12 In : Track On, Sync On, Remote On
LiveControl2.12 Out : Track On, Sync On, Remote On

IPad :

Wifi connected to internet on 192.168.123.1 Surfing fine on safari

Lemur 5.0 :

Midi 0 From: Ipad iO Dock II To: IPad : iO Dock II
Lemur IP - 192.168.123.22:8000
OSC 0 Host : 192.168.123.1 port:8000

I am able to set control changes to the strip faders and the play tab also works including the PB Mod and Velocity Sliders.

However on the launch tab nothing displays and the transport buttons seem to be outputting a Midi Notes close to C8.

Thank you for any kind of help...

Sascha

Hi,

Make sure that you are running the correct version of LiveControl 2:

For Live 9.1.3 and above, use LiveControl 2.1.31
For Live Live 8.4+ or Live 9.1.2 use LiveControl 2.1.3
For all previous versions of Live 9 use LiveControl 2.1

Also best to update to the latest version of Ableton Live.

All available here as downloads:
https://liine.net/en/products/lemur/premium/livecontrol-2/

After that, it's a case of having the MIDI settings properly configured in Ableton / Preferences / MIDI Sync, as well as in Lemur. A typical configuration would be:

Control Surface: LiveControl 2 1
Input: Daemon Input 0
Output: Daemon Output 0

Lemur
MIDI Target 0
Input: Daemon Output 0
Output: Daemon Input 0

Alesis iO Dock is unfortunately incompatible with LiveControl 2, because the Alesis unit does not allow SysEx messages. You should use Wi-Fi and Lemur Daemon.
