Lemur does not work with ios8

Cliff Oct 01, 2014 10:51PM CEST

When do you intend making Lemur work with ios8 and why are you taking money from us when the product clearly won't work?

Indeed, iOS 8 breaks file system access with Lemur. We have already fixed this bug and submitted an update to the App Store, Lemur 5.1 should be available imminently. It is currently waiting for review.

In the meantime, there are a few workarounds to sending templates to the app.

You can use Lemur Editor to edit templates and send them to the Lemur App. Lemur Editor is part of the Lemur Installer available here:

If you want to retrieve projects that you had previously saved on your device, connect your iPad to your computer with the sync cable. Open iTunes, and go to your iPad / Apps section, then scroll down to File Sharing. You will see a list of apps that support file sharing, click on Lemur. Now you should see a list of saved templates on your device. You can drag and drop these to your computer.

How long time will the review from Apple take you think?

It' soon been a week since you upload it? I know about the workaround, but it is not working for me since I am currently in no position to use neither a PC nor iTunes and the fine-tuning of my latest project is critical because it was intended for being used by the end of this week.

Best regards, Mattias

It's impossible for us to say how long it will take, once it's in the review process we simply have to wait.

Please release this on Android. I bought an iPad solely because I want to use Lemur. Each iOS update breaks it (and everything else). Imagine if I was on tour right now?

completely f'd.

Don't know if it's an iOS 8 thing, but it seems the Live Control 2 sequencer y-axis is off - if I touch E3, C3 is actually changed in Live (and in Lemur).

Can you reproduce this?

Hi Mikkel,

That's definitely not iOS 8 specific. Try resetting your LC2 settings (reloading the template, re-selecting the Control Surface, restarting Live)

Ok.. I know very little but I understand that it's hard for developers to keep up with changing formats and os bs. Blame the people who need to integrate planned obsolescence into their design, not the people who are driven to create in an ever-changing climate.

I finally got an ipad a couple weeks ago and am looking forward to working with whatever Lemur people make. Oh.. btw remember they had a touch interface before the ipad and didn't hesitate to adapt and focus on a new approach under the circumstances. fuc+ing gnarly. It takes a while for apple to clear apps.. all the people i know who develop them are more frustrated than the users.
